When you write in, it helps enormously if you include:
First, force-quit the app and reopen it. Purchases are restored automatically on launch, and a dropped network connection at the wrong moment is the usual cause.
If it still hasn't arrived, email us with your App Store receipt — you can find it in the confirmation email from Apple, or under Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → Purchase History on your device. We will sort it out.
The premium track is bought per season. Unlocking it covers the season you are playing; when you finish a season and advance to the next New World, the premium track is available to unlock again.
If you bought the pass before this changed, it still covers the season you are currently on.
It should not be. Your progress is backed up off your device, and the app restores it on first launch after a reinstall — coins, Gems, items, Battle Pass tier and your records.
Give it a moment on a working connection: the restore happens at launch and needs the network. If it is still empty after a relaunch, email us with your App Store receipt and your callsign if you had one, and we will put it right.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select the purchase. We have no ability to issue refunds ourselves, but tell us what went wrong — if it was our fault we want to know.
Your progress is backed up off your device and restored automatically, so this is usually a sync that has not caught up rather than anything lost.
If something is still missing after a relaunch, email us with your callsign and roughly when you last saw it, and we will look at the backup directly.
There are seven. One for each of the six sectors, ranked on your best single run in that sector, and a Campaign board that adds your best in every sector together. Pick between them with the chips at the top of the Leaderboard screen.
The Campaign total is the one worth chasing: it can only be raised by playing a sector you have neglected, and because it is built from your bests it can never fall.
Each board records a new personal best on that board. A run that does not beat your own record in that sector will not change your entry there — that is working as intended. A run can also be your best in one sector without being your best overall, in which case only that sector's board moves.
Beyond that, check:
Pull down on the leaderboard to refresh it.
Open the Leaderboard, type a new one, and tap SAVE. It updates your existing entry everywhere, keeping your score.
Entries can't be deleted inside the app, deliberately — otherwise anyone could delete a rival's score. Email info@demdiotech.com with your callsign and we will remove it within 30 days.
Tell us the callsign at info@demdiotech.com and we will remove it.
Hold the bar across the bottom to fire — nothing shoots until you do — and slide that same bar to steer the fleet. Dragging anywhere in the play area steers as well, and both are relative, so two thumbs moving at once add together.
Don't let hostiles cross the OUTPOST LINE at the bottom — every one that does costs you integrity, and at zero the run is over.
They overheated. Every shot adds heat, shown in the gauge on the fire bar, and at 100% the guns lock out until it falls back to about a third — which is longer than the pause you would have taken by choice.
Fire in bursts rather than holding the bar down. If heat keeps ending runs, take Coolant Lines the next time it comes up in the draft.
Each button shows a symbol; the in-game info page explains them all.
Each holds stored charges that refill over time. Past wave 20 they can bank up to three. Finish a run past wave 30 and one spare charge carries into your next run; past wave 35, all of them do.
They do, and they fight differently. Open Hostile Codex from the main menu — every type lists what it does and how to beat it. In short:
One goal a day, shown above the PLAY button. Finishing it pays Coins, and claiming it on consecutive days builds a streak. It resets at midnight your local time, and everyone gets the same objective each day.
Yes. It is off unless you allow notifications, and you can stop it at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Void Defenders. The reminder is created on your device — we are not told whether you saw it.
Because it is meant to. There are six sectors and no two are won the same way. Three of them — Nova Surge, Crimson Drift and Ion Wastes — are open from your first run, so you can start wherever you like. The last three open as you clear sectors: Aurora Reach once you have cleared one, Umbral Expanse once you have cleared two, and Solstice Frontier once you have cleared four. What counts is clearing a sector, which is not the same as reaching its last wave.
The briefing before every launch states that sector's rule, and it is worth reading:
You are in Ion Wastes, where nothing mends your hull while a wave is live — no regeneration, no repair capsule and no milestone repair. Your hull is rebuilt before the next wave starts. It is the rule of that sector rather than a bug.
Every fifth wave, after every boss wave, and once early on wave 2, the run pauses to offer three upgrades. Pick one; it lasts the rest of the run and stacks if you take it again. Tap the ? on that screen for the full walkthrough.
They do, and where that happens depends on the sector.
All six sectors sit on one shared difficulty curve, but each one starts at a different depth on it — that is what makes a later sector harder from its first wave rather than only from its last. Waves mix two kinds of hostile once you are 5 steps along that curve, and three kinds from 13. Nova Surge starts 7 steps in, so its waves mix two kinds from the first and three from wave 5. Every later sector starts deeper still, and from Ion Wastes on the first wave is already a three-kind wave.
The curve levels off eventually — it does not climb forever.
The boss rhythm is the sector's own too. Ion Wastes fields one every seventh wave and on its last (7, 14 and 20); Aurora Reach and Umbral Expanse every tenth, and Aurora Reach on its last as well (35). In between, a mini boss lands on the half-step: a smaller version of whichever boss is coming next, so you learn how it moves before meeting it at full strength.
Two sectors skip the rehearsal on purpose. Nova Surge opens on a boss and fields one every fourth wave after it, and on its last: 1, 5, 9, 13, 17 and 20. Solstice Frontier fields one every fifth wave, and none of them is a practice version. Crimson Drift, the stream, has no bosses.
The second campaign. One ship, the Vanguard, leaves the fleet and crosses six territories to reach the next star base. It opens once you have cleared any one sector of Hold the Line: choose the SOLO FLIGHT tab on the home screen.
Your ship's hull is what you lose with, so watch the HULL bar above the line and the HULL CRITICAL warning. Each sector has its own rule, three lieutenants and a boss, and every sector you clear earns the Vanguard a new capability that the next sector calls for.
Not yet. The leaderboard ranks Hold the Line runs.
Force-quit and reopen first. If it keeps happening, email us with your device and iOS version and roughly what you were doing. Crash reports are sent automatically and genuinely do get read.
Check your device isn't on silent, and check the in-game sound menu — tap the speaker icon on the main menu, or open Pause → Sound Menu mid-run. Music and effects can be toggled separately.
Close other apps and make sure iOS is up to date. If it persists on a recent device, please tell us — that is a bug, not expected.
Our privacy policy is at privacy.html, alongside this page.
The short version: no ads, no tracking, no account, and no personal data requested. Almost everything stays on your device. See the policy for the detail, including how to have leaderboard data removed.
